The ongoing rehabilitation and improvement project of National Road No. 48, spanning a length of 148 kilometers, has achieved a significant milestone, with completion reaching 25.57% as of April 2023. This noteworthy progress was reported following a site inspection conducted by Lok Chumteav Mithona Phuthong, the Governor, and Mrs. Inary Net, the Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province, on May 14, 2023.

During the inspection, Lok Chumteav and her team visited four key locations along the route to assess the project’s advancements.

The first location, starting from Boeung Preav commune in Sre Ambel district, marked the beginning of the road at 0 km.

At the 60 km mark, the inspection focused on the high dam area, followed by an examination of the area to be excavated for filling the low position at the 120 km mark.

Finally, at km 142, attention was directed towards the section featuring four lanes for vehicles. It is worth noting that National Road No. 48 accommodates four lanes for five vehicles.

Based on the inspection findings, it has been determined that the road rehabilitation and improvement project will require an additional 12 months beyond the original deadline.
