Amidst the grandeur of the event, Cambodia has witnessed a remarkable influx of international tourists, with a staggering average of approximately 16,000 visitors per day. This surge in global interest highlights the magnetic appeal of Cambodia’s awe-inspiring landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality.

HE Thong Khon, the esteemed Permanent Vice President of the National Organizing Committee of the SEA Games and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, emphasized the challenges faced in hosting such a monumental event, compounded by the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, fueled by an unwavering sense of national pride, the National Organizing Committee has united to overcome all obstacles, ensuring the seamless execution of the SEA Games as planned.

The SEA Games in Cambodia have been marked by extraordinary highlights, including the awe-inspiring Victory Sports Parade and the grand opening ceremony, which mirrors the grandeur of Olympic-level spectacles. Notably, these remarkable showcases have been made accessible to all, with no ticket requirements, extensive live broadcasts, or financial burden on participating sports delegations.

In a momentous announcement, Samdech Techo, the revered leader of Cambodia, revealed that the government’s investment in the 32nd SEA Games reached approximately $118 million, accompanied by an additional allocation of $7 million to support the participating athletes. Addressing agricultural graduates on May 15, 2023, Samdech Techo also highlighted the substantial financial gains made through the cancellation of the 19 Covid virus tests.

However, he acknowledged that if testing requirements persist throughout the SEA Games, Cambodia is prepared to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to procure necessary testing equipment for the safety and well-being of athletes and spectators.

As Cambodia’s dynamic landscape hosts the remarkable 32nd SEA Games, the nation demonstrates its commitment to excellence, unity, and resilience. With unparalleled investments and an extraordinary influx of international visitors, Cambodia showcases its cultural magnificence while etching its name in sporting history.
