Battambang Collaborates with AIMF to Pioneer Toilet Waste Treatment Plant, Spearheading Sustainable Development

In a significant stride towards sustainable development, the provincial authorities of Battambang have embarked on a joint venture with the esteemed International Association of French Mayors (AIMF) to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study for establishing a cutting-edge Toilet Waste Treatment Plant. This momentous collaboration was unveiled during a productive discussion held via the Zoom video and audio transmission system on June 8, 2023.

HE Sok Loo, the esteemed Governor of Battambang Province, expressed keen interest in the project, citing the successful implementation of similar facilities in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Recognizing the wide-ranging benefits such a toilet mud management station can provide, HE Sok Loo highlighted its potential contributions to the development of Battambang Province.

This visionary undertaking signifies a new frontier for the Battambang provincial administration, emphasizing the need for expertise in the field of toilet mud management. In light of this, Governor Sok Loo has assigned proficient officers to collaborate with AIMF, fostering comprehensive research in this domain and other related areas.

The establishment of the Toilet Waste Treatment Plant aligns with Battambang’s overarching goal of transforming into a smart city, poised to captivate an increasing number of domestic and international tourists while attracting potential investors. This transformative initiative will propel Battambang Province towards sustainable urban development, bolstering its prominence on the global stage.
