Bmam Expo Asia 2018 Opening in September

The BMAM Expo Asia 2018 international exhibition and conference on building maintenance and facilities management will be held from 12 to 14 September 2018 in Hall 5-6 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. This huge expo will feature all the latest technologies and innovations for facilities management.

The three-day event is hosted under the theme of “integrated solutions for FM of the future” and will showcase products and services including smart building solutions, smart devices; building automation systems and applications; sensor systems; smart energy; AR; VR; and AL, in addition to FM products and services; workspace management; cleaning products and services; security; interior and landscape design; green building technologies; and plant maintenance.

The event will bring together more than 150 exhibitors and 6,000 FM professionals and key decision makers from the ASEAN region.

Meanwhile, in response to the increasingly digitised world, Thailand’s spending in loT amounted to US$57.7 million in 2014 and will increase to US$973.3 million in 2020. The government of Thailand has policies to support the automation and robotics industries to strengthen its technology hub position.

Bentley Systems Technology Predicts Grid Failures Before the Storm Hits

As extreme weather events continue to expose the vulnerabilities of an aging electrical grid, Bentley Systems is deploying advanced “digital twin” technology to transform how utilities prepare for disasters. By utilizing its Power Line Systems (PLS) software, Bentley can now predict exactly which poles and wires will fail under specific weather conditions, allowing for surgical, […]

Why “Smart” Pumps Aren’t Always Smart

Think a “variable speed” pump is a guaranteed money-saver? Think again. A recent analysis has revealed that a common engineering “shortcut” could actually be draining thousands of dollars from utility budgets every year. Junior engineers often fall for the “Pump Affinity Law”—a simple formula suggesting that if you slow a pump down by 20%, you […]
