Kampong Speu Prepares for Influx of 25 Chinese Factories by Year End

By the close of 2023 or early 2024 at the latest, Kampong Speu anticipates the establishment of 25 factories from Chinese investors seeking to establish a significant industrial foothold. This ambitious endeavour was unveiled through an official announcement on 15 August 2023, featured on the Facebook page of HE Vy Samnang, Governor of Kampong Speu Province.

The resolute decision to welcome these dynamic investments follows HE Vy Samnang’s pivotal visit to the Guangdong and Guangzhou Provinces of China on 13 August. This diplomatic overture highlighted the immense economic potential of Kampong Speu province and the wider Kingdom of Cambodia. A well-coordinated provincial delegation effectively showcased the province’s allure, positioning it as a compelling destination to attract visionary investors eager to catalyse business ventures.

These forthcoming factories hold the promise of generating a substantial surge in employment opportunities. An estimated 23,000 diligent workers are projected to find gainful employment across the array of industries that these factories will encompass.

The province’s appeal has consistently captivated foreign investors, notably attracting the keen interest of Chinese investors from Henan province. Their proactive engagement and exploration of investment prospects within Kampong Speu’s industrial and agricultural sectors underpin the region’s burgeoning potential. (Read more)

Beyond this substantial Chinese investment, Kampong Speu province’s appeal resonates internationally.
