Progress Update: Rehabilitation of National Road No. 48 (Sre Ambel-Koh Kong) Reaches 43%

In a recent update on 20 February 2024, the rehabilitation project for National Road No. 48 (Sre Ambel-Koh Kong) has achieved a notable milestone, completing 42.71% of the planned improvements. The project is on track for its scheduled completion by the end of April 2025.

During a meeting on 23 February 2024, HE So Victor, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, engaged with representatives from construction companies, technical inspection firms, and relevant technical officers to assess the progress of the National Road No. 48 improvement project.

The meeting served as a platform to review construction advancements, discuss the project’s current status, address challenges, and explore solutions. It also emphasised the importance of adhering to the implementation plan, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring the timely supply of machinery and manpower.

Secretary of State So Victor urged Korean construction companies involved in the project to accelerate their efforts, emphasising the need to meet the set timelines. He highlighted the significance of maintaining high technical standards to ensure the road’s durability and longevity.

Moreover, attention was drawn to traffic safety at the construction site, with a specific emphasis on providing adequate safety equipment to safeguard workers and commuters.

The National Road No. 48 rehabilitation project spans 148km, initiating from PK 141+750 (Chamkar Luong) at the junction of National Road No. 4 and extending to Khemarak Phoumin City, Koh Kong Province. The project, commenced on 3 January 2017, is allocated a budget of approximately US$78 million. (Read more)
