These developments have generated over 200,000 jobs in the province, reflecting the area’s growing appeal to investors.

This information was shared by HE Cheam Chansophoan, Governor of Kampong Speu Province, during a meeting with Chinese investors from Zhejiang Province on 29 August 2024.

During the meeting, the governor highlighted that Kampong Speu is not only home to 423 large-scale factories but also nearly 1,000 small and medium enterprises, with Chinese investors accounting for approximately 90% of the total investment in these operations.

He noted, “The province has shown robust growth, opening 30 new factories in just the last six months, with many more currently under construction.”

The meeting also revealed future plans, with Chinese investors expressing a strong interest in further expanding their footprint in Kampong Speu. They announced intentions to invest an additional USD 50 million in a new pizza pot factory in the Samrong Tong district, signalling continued confidence in the region’s investment climate.

HE Cheam Chansophoan reaffirmed the province’s potential and attractiveness to foreign investors, attributing this success to the stable and supportive policies of the Cambodian government.
