The final 35km Section of NR No. 5, Valued at Over USD 52m, Reaches 25% Completion

The final section of Cambodia’s NR No. 5, spanning 35.14 km between Serey Sophorn and Poipet, has reached 25% completion as of early September 2024, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, 18 September 2024.

With a project cost of USD 52.56 million, funded by the Government of Cambodia and Japan’s Credit Assistance, the road is scheduled for completion by March 2025. (Read more)

Despite delays caused by heavy rainfall, the construction team is working diligently to ensure the project’s timely completion.

The last section of the road, which began construction on 22 November 2023, has faced additional challenges, including starting later than other sections due to extended bidding processes. Nonetheless, progress is being made, with the construction team focusing on both improving road quality and maintaining traffic flow. (Read more)
