Japan has opened a construction site for a USD200 million factory in Pursat

Minebea, a leading Japanese electronics manufacturer, inaugurated its second factory on a 50-hectare development site in the Krakor Special Economic Zone in Saravan village, Sna Ansa commune, Krakor district, Pursat province on September 20, 2024.

The groundbreaking ceremony on September 20, 2024, was presided over by His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, His Excellency Keo Rattanak, Minister of Mines and Energy, Director General of Minneapolis, and His Excellency Governor of the Board of Governors of Pursat Province, along with many other stakeholders.

This factory, the second largest project of Minebea in Cambodia, is being built on an area of about 50 hectares in the Krakor Special Economic Zone, Pursat province, and has created thousands of jobs for Cambodians.

Minebea has previously announced plans to spend 32 billion yen (USD205 million) to build another plant in Cambodia by 2024 to produce car and engine components, along with other products, as reported by NIKKEI ASIA on May 10, 2024. (Read more)

Additionally, HE Sun Chanthol has confirmed that Minebea Cambodia has spent about USD 650 million to buy 50 hectares of land to expand its second investment project. (Read more)
