Minebea Breaks Ground on USD 200m Factory in Pursat SEZ

Japanese electronics giant Minebea officially commenced construction of its USD 200 million factory on a 50-hectare site within the Krakor SEZ, Pursat province on 20 September 2024 by HE Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, along with HE Keo Rattanak, Minister of Mines and Energy, and other high-profile officials.

The project marks a significant milestone for Cambodia’s industrial growth and job creation, as it is expected to generate thousands of new employment opportunities for the local workforce.

This latest development comes as part of Minebea’s strategic investment in Cambodia, with the company already confirming plans to spend USD 205 million on expanding its production capabilities in the region by 2024. (Read more)

The new plant will focus on manufacturing critical car and engine components, building on Minebea’s existing operations in the country. Additionally, Minebea has invested approximately USD 650 million in acquiring the 50-hectare land parcel to support the company’s second major industrial initiative in Cambodia. (Read more)
