Kampong Cham Achieves 99% Landmark Progress in Land Registration

Kampong Cham province is celebrating a significant milestone in its land registration efforts, with over 99% of the work now complete, accounting for more than 90,000 land parcels. This achievement was highlighted during a recent site inspection before a ceremonial event scheduled for December 9, 2024, where citizens will receive long-awaited land titles.

His Excellency Un Chanda, the Governor of Kampong Cham, shared that the systematic land surveying efforts have spanned an impressive 21 years. This extensive initiative has assessed and declared land areas across 946 villages, corresponding to 109 communes-Sangkat and 10 city districts. Officials have collected and measured data for approximately 917,795 land parcels, with a total target of around 924,421 – a testament to the dedication and hard work put into this project.

Looking ahead, His Excellency announced that if current trajectories hold, Samdech Thibault Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will preside over the distribution of land titles to residents by the end of December 2024, symbolizing a new chapter for many Cambodians.

Cambodia has registered an astonishing 7.7 million private land parcels on a broader scale. The Ministry of Land Management has successfully issued title deeds for 7 million parcels and surveyed 3 million new ones, with ambitious plans to complete all land registrations by 2025. This proactive approach protects land ownership rights and aims to boost economic development and create a more secure environment for citizens. (Read more)
