Morodok Techo Sky Bridge Officially Inaugurated

In a significant advancement for transportation infrastructure, Prime Minister Hun Manet officially inaugurated the Morodok Techo Sky Bridge on 7 April. The ceremony occurred at a prominent junction connecting Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard, Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Boulevard, and Preah Monivong Boulevard, serving the Meanchey and Chamkar Mon districts of Phnom Penh.

The Morodok Techo Sky Bridge is designed to alleviate traffic congestion in the area and enhance transport connectivity in southern Phnom Penh. This vital infrastructure not only serves as a direct link to the Samdech Thipadei Sky Bridge but also supports the upcoming international airport and the “Prek Chik Funan-Techo” bridge project.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasised the bridge’s significance, noting that it stands as a source of national pride, accomplished through the efforts of Cambodian engineers and laborers. “This project is a testament to our capabilities and dedication as a nation,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister also underscored the government’s resolve to expand transportation infrastructure further to meet the increasing demands of the population. He announced plans to explore additional road construction and the development of waterways to better accommodate the surging traffic.

Originally breaking ground on 31 August 2022, the Morodok Techo Sky Bridge was constructed by the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) within a span of 36 months. Its completion marks another milestone in Cambodia’s ongoing infrastructure development, aimed at boosting economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. (Read more)
