PM Unveils Ambitious Plan to Construct National Road 60b, Enhancing Connectivity Between Provinces

In a significant stride towards improving transport infrastructure, Prime Minister Hun Manet recently announced the construction of National Road 60b, which will connect the provinces of Kampong Thom and Kratie. This pivotal announcement was made during the inauguration ceremony of National Road 71c on 12 April 2025.

During his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing connectivity among Kratie, Kampong Thom, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, and the capital city, Phnom Penh. “This road will greatly enhance convenience for our citizens, and there is no need to cross the Kizuna Bridge,” he stated, highlighting the benefits residents can expect from this new project.

The Prime Minister also noted that the completion of the Prek Prasorb Bridge project in 2026 has set the stage for the development of Road 60b. This initiative is anticipated to significantly boost local agriculture and industry, providing a wealth of benefits to the communities situated along the new route.

“Residents along this road will play a vital role in contributing to our agricultural and industrial sectors,” he added, underscoring this project’s broader impact on economic development.

This major infrastructure project is part of the Royal Government’s strategic plan to enhance national, provincial, and sub-national road systems for the benefit of all citizens. The initiative showcases the government’s ongoing commitment to improving road infrastructure to facilitate travel and foster economic growth across communities nationwide.
