Kampot Province Achieves Full Completion of Systematic Land Measurements for Residents

Provincial authorities commit to finalizing the distribution of all land titles within the current year to ensure legal property security

Kampot Province has officially reached a significant milestone by completing 100 percent of its systematic land registration measurements. This technical phase has been successfully finalized across all 93 communes and 491 villages within the province. Following this achievement, the provincial administration has pledged to complete the distribution of all land ownership titles to citizens by the end of 2026.

This progress was announced during a ceremony for the issuance of real estate ownership certificates held on February 19, 2026. The event was presided over by His Excellency Mao Thonin, Governor of Kampot Province, who emphasized the importance of providing residents with legal certainty over their property.

Mr. Preap Sophat, Director of the Kampot Provincial Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction, and Cadastral Affairs, explained that the initiative is a key component of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s national political program. He noted that the measurement phase has encompassed an estimated total of 560,000 plots of land. With the data collection now complete, the province is prioritizing the administrative processing and physical delivery of the titles to ensure that all landowners receive their certificates in a timely and efficient manner.
