The ambitious project to construct a pumping station extracting water from the Mekong River demands substantial investment and cutting-edge technology. Spanning hundreds of kilometers, this endeavor involves the installation of extensive pipelines and the establishment of a state-of-the-art water treatment facility. The primary objective is to ensure the provision of safe and clean water to communities residing east of the Mekong River, extending all the way to the Vietnamese border, mitigating the risks of chemical contamination and safeguarding human health.

The successful completion of this endeavor will undoubtedly contribute to the development of Cambodia’s water sector, particularly benefiting the communities residing in Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmum, and Kratie provinces. These areas have long been impacted by the remnants of the Indochina War and the subsequent use of chemical agents, resulting in the contamination of ground and underground water sources.

By addressing these historical challenges, the pumping station project aims to enhance the lives of countless individuals who have been affected by these toxic substances for an extended period.
