ADB demonstrates support for clean water development in Cambodia through a USD 400 million large-scale financing project by 2025

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is committed to further strengthening urban development in Cambodia through the USD400 million Large-Scale Financing (MFF) project, which is scheduled for approval by the end of 2025. The initiative comes after the success of an ongoing USD119 million project in the Battambang and Kampong Cham provinces.

This was stated in a recent meeting between HE Hem Vandy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation and an ADB delegation led by Norio Saito, Senior Director of Water Supply and Urban Development, to find out strategies for improvement—important water and sanitation services in Cambodia.

On that occasion, ADB stated its intention to finance key water and sanitation services in Cambodia to promote public health and environmental protection, emphasizing key requirements for sustainable revenue collection mechanisms.

Hem Vandy also expressed his strong commitment to improving wastewater management in Cambodia. HE requested continued cooperation from ADB to develop water infrastructure and technical assistance for water service operators. Well.

In response to these discussions, the ADB delegation confirmed the forthcoming Large-Scale Financing Project (MFF), aimed at urban development worth up to $ 400 million and expected to be approved by the end of 2025.
