Battambang Authority to Build New Independence Monument, Park, & Night Market

The Battambang Provincial Administration will soon build a new Independence Monument, Samdech Krala Hom Park, and Battambang Night Market to attract more tourists, according to the meeting on 29 November 2022.

Battambang Governor HE Sok Loo stated that the project will be built on the old site of the Battambang Night Market and Food Street.

As for the location of the new Battambang night market, the team plans to rebuild in the near future, which is about 500 metres from the Samdech Krala Hom park and Independence Monument.

The project is being built for tourists to enjoy the fresh air and also serve as a new multi-functional space.

In the past, the Battambang provincial authorities have also asked France to examine the possibility of helping to preserve ancient buildings in Battambang.  (Read more)
