Bentley Systems Names New Chief Revenue Officer to Drive AI-Fueled Growth

Bentley Systems has appointed Andy Rahden as Chief Revenue Officer, strengthening its commercial leadership as the company accelerates the adoption of artificial intelligence across infrastructure engineering.

Rahden joined Bentley in 2023 and has led the company’s global “success force,” bringing together application engineers, solution architects, consultants, and technical account managers. The team works directly with major customers to help integrate Bentley’s technologies into their engineering and infrastructure workflows.

The company sees close customer engagement as increasingly important as AI reshapes how infrastructure is designed, delivered, and operated. Bentley CEO Nicholas Cumins said Rahden’s technical sales background and entrepreneurial experience position him to help customers navigate this transition while strengthening the connection between customer needs and product development.

Rahden brings extensive experience across engineering, technology, and technical sales. Before joining Bentley, he was CEO of education technology company Shmoop and previously founded Pluralsight’s Creative, Design, and Engineering organization, helping the company scale its revenue fourfold ahead of its 2018 IPO. He also held leadership positions at Autodesk, where he managed global technical sales teams during a period of significant growth.

His earlier career included hands-on experience in water infrastructure design at Baker Hughes and sales management for a SolidWorks distributor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.

The appointment highlights a broader shift in the infrastructure technology industry: as AI moves from experimentation into everyday engineering workflows, software companies are increasingly focused not only on developing new AI capabilities but also on helping customers adopt them at scale.

For Bentley, Rahden’s new role places customer adoption and commercial growth at the center of its strategy to capitalize on the expanding role of AI in infrastructure engineering.
