Private Companies Raise US$307M from Stock Market for Infrastructure Development by Early 2023

Private companies investing in the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) have raised approximately US$307 million from the stock market by early 2023. The capital raised will be used for the development of infrastructure in the country, according to a report released by SERC on 28 March 2023.

The report highlights the intended use of the proceeds, including developing clean water networks, power grids, and condominium projects. Additionally, the capital raised will be used to support rural micro, loan portfolio, loan expansion, refinancing, telecommunications service development, green financing, as well as working capital and container ports.

SERC also reported that from 2012 to the fourth quarter of 2022, a total of seven private companies have been listed on the stock market. The trading of equity accounted for a total value of US$294,063,970, according to SERC.

Private sector investment in Cambodia’s infrastructure is a crucial factor in the country’s economic development. The successful listing of these companies on the stock market demonstrates the confidence of investors in Cambodia’s economic growth potential.
