Cambodia has 51 Air Quality Monitoring Stations Nationwide

To date, there are a total of 51 air quality monitoring sites throughout Cambodia to collect daily air data to evaluate and manage air quality in Cambodia.

The figure was provided by HE Net Pheaktra, Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Environment, in a meeting on 31 October.

“To inspect the air quality in our country, we have set up 51 air inspection sites in Cambodia, including 14 in Phnom Penh. There are 37 locations in the provinces so we can collect daily data, said HE Net Pheaktra.

The government has also set up multiple measures to prevent air pollution including management of construction sites, quality control of fuel containing high sulfur, controlling the release of air pollutants from vehicles & production sites, management of open waste incineration, management of the urban environment, and establishment of air pollution monitoring and forecasting system.
