Cambodia Unveils Modern National Assembly Building with USD25 Million Vietnamese Aid

Cambodia has inaugurated a modern National Assembly administration building with a USD 25 million aid package from Vietnam. The ceremony, held on 21 November 2024, was attended by Samdech Khuon Sodary, President of Cambodia’s National Assembly, and HE Tran Thanh Man, President of the National Assembly of Vietnam, symbolizing the enduring friendship between the two nations.

The 12-storey building, which began construction in 2021, features traditional Khmer architectural design integrated with state-of-the-art facilities. It includes dedicated offices for specialized committees, multiple meeting halls, and workspaces for the General Secretariat. The infrastructure is designed to enhance administrative efficiency and provide parliamentarians with a more effective working environment, enabling them to serve the Cambodian people and government better. During the inauguration, Sadech Khuon Sodary highlighted that Vietnam’s generous support underscores the strong bilateral ties and mutual respect between the two countries.
