Construction of the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge to Begin in Early 2025

The highly anticipated Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge, which will connect Phnom Penh’s Chroy Changvar area to the Areyaksat night market in Kandal province, is set to break ground in 2025.

According to HE Phan Rim, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the ministry has approved the final report on the project, marking a significant milestone in moving towards the detailed design phase.

 “If there is no change, we will break ground on the construction within the first half of 2025,” he stated, highlighting the project’s timely progress.

This strategic infrastructure project will span 2,375 metres in length and 27.5 metres in width, featuring two cable-stayed bridges. The project is funded by a USD 235 million investment from the Export-Import Bank of Korea, with the agreement signed on 9 December 2022. (Read more)
