Cambodia Offers Nearly 200,000 Job Opportunities for Workers Returning from Thailand

In an encouraging development for Cambodian citizens, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has announced that there are nearly 200,000 job opportunities available across the country. This announcement comes as many workers are returning from Thailand, providing them with a timely chance to reintegrate into the local workforce.

Prime Minister Hun Sen highlighted the promising job market in a Facebook post dated August 9, 2025, stating that a total of 189,493 positions in various enterprises, factories, and institutions are currently available in 25 capitals and provinces. These opportunities are poised to support returning workers as they transition back to life in Cambodia.

The job distribution across provinces reflects a diverse array of opportunities. Some of the highest numbers of job openings include:

– Kampong Speu Province: 45,931

– Phnom Penh: 42,478

– Svay Rieng: 21,925

– Kandal: 14,978

– Kampong Chhnang: 13,030

– Takeo: 11,758

Smaller but significant numbers can be found in provinces such as Sihanoukville, Kratie, and Ratanakiri, with positions available in various sectors, ensuring a broad range of options for job seekers.

Prime Minister Hun Sen reassured citizens that the Royal Government of Cambodia is dedicated to providing employment opportunities to enhance daily life for its people. “We are committed to facilitating job placements and contributing to the construction of a better future for all Cambodians,” he stated.
