Cambodia Requests Japan to Help Transform Battambang Provincial Museum into Modern & Smart Facility

The Battambang Provincial Governor held a special meeting with Japanese consultants on smart city development in Battambang on 07 June 2022.

The Smart City Development Project in Battambang focuses on transforming the city through the installation of modern technology in public places, and especially the improvement of the Battambang Provincial Museum into a smart museum equipped with digital art or. VR technology in the museum.

This project will help promote local culture and heritage, as well as gain new experiences with VR technology, which will be a tourist attraction to visit more provincial museums.

HE Sok Loo, Governor of Battambang Provincial Board of Governors, warmly welcomed this project that will help to promote tourism, culture and Khmer civilisation more widely to national and international tourists, and increase the incomes of local people.

He added that the transformation of the provincial museum into a smart museum, but also the transformation of the car park into a smart parking lot, makes this project very important and in line with the plan of the provincial administration.

The Battambang Provincial Administration also urged the Japanese side to help study quickly and in detail this smart city project.
