Chinese Firm to Build US$258m Cement Plant in Kampong Speu Province

Chinese company CONCH KT CEMENT (PHNOM PENH) COMPANY LIMITED has been granted a registration certificate from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), underscoring an audacious US$258 million investment in a cement manufacturing facility nestled in the Oral district in Kampong Speu province.

The validation was confirmed by an official announcement by CDC on the 25 August 2023. This new processing facility, situated within the confines of Monorom village, Hom Samnang commune, Oral district, is expected to significantly augment Kampong Speu’s industrial landscape. Endowed with an investment corpus of approximately US$258 million, the project wields the transformative power to create 468 employment opportunities and contribute to economic empowerment.

Kampong Speu Provincial Governor, HE Vy Samnang, divulged that the company is concurrently navigating another ambitious undertaking—a cutting-edge cement factory crowned with an investment of approximately US$263 million, enriching the industrial tapestry of Battambang province. (Read more)

Unveiling a remarkable facet of Cambodia’s industrial ecosystem, the nation plays host to five prolific cement factories, collectively contributing to an impressive annual production capacity of around 9 million tons. Among them are Chip Mong Inc. Cement Corporation, Kampot Cement Company, Chakrei Ting Cement Company, Battambang Consult Cement Company, and the Thai Bunrong Cement Company Limited, each contributing to Cambodia’s booming construction sector.
