Giant Chinese Tyre Producer Conducting Feasibility Study to Set Up a Car Tyre Factory in Cambodia

Cambodia is gearing up for a promising partnership as one of China’s tire manufacturing giants, Wanli Tires, explores the prospect of establishing a tire factory within the kingdom. The stage was set for this transformative opportunity during a high-profile meeting between Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, HE Sun Chanthol, and Mr. Jing Guangjun, Deputy Director and General Manager of Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group (GIIHG), on 21 October 2023.

The Deputy Prime Minister seized the occasion to present the remarkable potential for investment in Cambodia, underscoring the nation’s vigorous efforts towards infrastructural development. These strides are in alignment with Cambodia’s vision for a brighter future, underpinned by strategic investments in the country’s growth and progress.

In response to the encouragement from the Deputy Prime Minister and recognizing Cambodia’s impressive trajectory, Wanli Tires is committed to conducting an in-depth study on the viability of establishing a state-of-the-art tire manufacturing facility within Cambodia. As a subsidiary of the Fortune 500 member, Guangzhou Industrial Investment Holdings Group (GIIHG), Wanli Tires is poised to bring its global expertise to further bolster Cambodia’s industrial landscape.

HE Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Investment Commission of Cambodia, had previously engaged with Wanli delegates, highlighting Cambodia’s allure as a prime investment destination. He emphasized Cambodia’s potential, which perfectly aligns with Wanli Tires’ ambitions for overseas investments.

Presently, Cambodia hosts three thriving tire factories. The first is located in Bavet City, Svay Rieng province (Read more), the second in Sihanoukville (Read more), and the third in Kratie province (Read more), all contributing significantly to Cambodia’s growing industrial prowess.
