Preventing Landslides: Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Undergoes Repairs at Four Key Locations

The Expressway Management Company has announced urgent repairs on the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway at four critical locations to prevent landslides due to flooding during the rainy season. This initiative aims to ensure road safety and prevent potential accidents. The announcement was made on the official Facebook page of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway on 10 June 2024.

The repair schedule is as follows:

  1. From 16:00 on 10 June to 12:00 on 11 June: Repairs will be carried out on the normal traffic lanes and emergency stop lanes from km 34 + 000 to km 34 + 800 on the Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh route. During this period, all customers can use the overtaking lane.
  2. From 12:00 to 18:00 on 11 June: The repairs will shift to the overtaking lane from km 34 + 000 to km 34 + 800 on the Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh route. Customers can travel on the normal traffic lanes and emergency stop lanes.
  3. From 18:00 on 11 June to 12:00 on 12 June: Repairs will be performed on the normal and emergency stop lanes from km 33 + 500 to km 34 + 300 on the Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville route. The overtaking lane will be available for travel.
  4. From 12:00 to 18:00 on 12 June: Repairs will continue on the overtaking lane from km 33 + 500 to km 34 + 300 on the Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville route. Customers can use the normal traffic lanes and emergency stop lanes during this time.

The company urges all travellers to reduce their driving speed and exercise increased caution while passing through these repair zones.
