Concessional Loan Agreement for Ring Road No.3 Signed

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has signed a concessional loan agreement with China funded bank Export-Import Bank of China (EXIM Bank of China) for the construction of the Ring Road No.3 project worth US$259 million, according to Fresh News.

According to the same source, the Ring Road No. 3 is a four-lane road with the total length of 47.6 km connecting Cambodia’s main National Road No.5, 4, 2, 21 and National Road No.1.

However, regarding the specific timeline for the construction of the new Ring Road No. 3 is yet to be disclosed.

“Normally after any agreement is signed, construction normally will start after 3 months,” said H.E Vasim Sorya, spokesman of MPWT and Director General of the Department of Administration and Finance.

The construction of the Ring Road No. 3 it is under a contract between the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) and Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd.

The agreement was signed on July 10, 2018.
