Progress Update: Mekong River Bridge Construction in Kratie Province Reaches 45% Completion

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has announced that the construction of a Mekong River bridge in Kratie province, funded by China with a budget of US$111 million, has reached 45% completion, with the connecting road at 15%.

HE Lim Sidenin, Secretary of State of the MPWT, led a technical working group to inspect the project’s progress on 14 March.

The project encompasses the construction of a new Mekong River bridge and a connecting road linking NR7 to NR60B.

Currently, the bridge construction stands at 45% completion, while the connecting road has reached 15%, according to the ministry.

Overall, the physical project has progressed by approximately 30%, indicating positive advancement in line with the planned schedule.

The bridge, measuring 1,761 kilometres in length and 13.5 metres in width, along with a 31.69-kilometre connecting road, is being executed by the Shanghai Construction Group.

Funded by the People’s Republic of China, the project is budgeted at US$111.98 million and is anticipated to be completed within 42 months. (Read more)
