Progress Update: $38 Million Koh Norea Bridge Construction Reaches 70% Completion

The $38-million bridge project connecting Koh Pich to Koh Norea has reached 70% completion and is set to be operational as planned.

Construction began on 26 October 2020, under the direction of Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia. The cable-stayed concrete bridge, spanning 824 meters in length and 24.50 meters in width, crosses the Bassac River from Koh Pich to Koh Norea Development Zone. (Read more)

According to Mr. Sam Piseth, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom Penh, the bridge will be completed by the end of November 2023. The Koh Norea Bridge will play a significant role in improving traffic flow and connectivity between the two development areas. The bridge will enable people to cross from Koh Norea to Koh Pich, making it an important infrastructure project for the region.

The completion of the Koh Norea Bridge is expected to enhance the local economy by facilitating the transport of goods and people, as well as reducing travel times and congestion on Chbar Ampov roads. The bridge’s strategic location is poised to provide new opportunities for residential, commercial, and industrial development in the region.
