Construction of New Bokor City Administration Building to Begin Soon

Construction of the new Bokor city administration building is expected to begin soon as the Kampot Provincial Administration is currently inspecting the potential location.

Kampot Governor HE Cheav Tay said during the site inspection on Tuesday 08 June that the potential would be a spot nearby the Kampot Provincial Department of Environment, next to the checkpoint going up to the Thansur Bokor resort.

“After an initial inspection this time, the provincial administration will prepare the request and submit to Sokha Hotel Co., Ltd to proceed further,” said HE Cheav Tay.”

“Besides building the administrative building, we also plan to build more infrastructure nearby as well as to help facilitate the travel of officers and locals in and out of the complex,” he added.

Therefore, the governor strongly requested Sokha Hotel company to cooperate with officials from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction while they are performing works such as land measuring.

The new Bokor city was established officially in March this year by taking three communes from Tuek Chhou district in Kampot province. With this establishment, the government is planning to transform the area into a smart, natural, and historical site. (Read more)
