DPM Tea Banh: New National Defence Ministry Equipped with Numerous Unique Features

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Samdech Tea Banh has expressed his pride in the newly completed Ministry of National Defence headquarters, citing that the building is equipped with numerous special features.

Not revealing all the features, DPM Tea Banh only said that one of the special functions of the building is the large-scale rooftop helipad, which can allow Z-9 helicopters to land.

The construction of this new headquarters began in June 2018 and has recently been completed. Comprising of seven floors (about 32 metres high), the new building is 28 metres wide, 191 metres long and has an underground parking lot.

In addition, the building is divided into three sections, the east zone, middle zone, and the west zone.

The east zone comprises small and big meeting rooms, a conference hall, small and big courtrooms, an area for reviewing troops, and a huge meeting hall that can accommodate up to 1,000 people for both national and international meetings.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen will preside over the inauguration ceremony of the new Ministry of National Defence, on 29 December.
