Kandal province has seen the installation of 790 mobile antenna stations as of February 2024. Acknowledging the growing demand for mobile internet services, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications inaugurated the construction site for an additional 150 mobile antenna stations during a groundbreaking ceremony led by HE Chea Vandeth, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) on 20 February 2024.

Minister Chea Vandeth underscored the pivotal role of telecommunication infrastructure development, citing digital technology as a catalyst crucial for elevating economic and social productivity. Emphasizing the project’s significance, he expressed optimism that the telecommunication infrastructure initiative in Kandal province would yield even more substantial outcomes in 2024, effectively catering to the burgeoning demand for Internet services, especially mobile connectivity.

This initiative aligns with Cambodia’s broader strategy to propel digital modernization, transitioning from 4G to 5G, and fostering advanced development to meet the evolving needs of the populace and modern technology.
