Cambodia-Indonesia Trade Volume Surpasses USD 1bn in 2023 with 15% Growth

In a significant boost for bilateral relations, Cambodia and Indonesia achieved a trade volume exceeding USD 1 billion in 2023, marking a robust 15% increase compared to the previous year. Lok Chumteav Chamnimol, Cambodia’s Minister of Commerce, shared these insights during the “Hello Indonesia” exhibition on 13 September 2024.

The minister emphasized that this remarkable growth reflects the deepening cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the trade sector. She expressed confidence that the positive trend would continue in 2024, fuelled by innovative initiatives like the “Hello Indonesia” event and enhanced collaboration in recent trade activities.

Lok Chumteav urged the private sector from both countries to seize the momentum, encouraging further involvement in similar events to unlock new opportunities and forge stronger partnerships.

The minister also announced Cambodia’s upcoming “17th Cambodian Products and Import-Export Fair (CIEGE),” scheduled for 13-16 December 2024 at PH Grand Hall, Borey Peng Huoth, Boeung Snor, Phnom Penh. This event aims to attract national and international exhibitors, promoting trade, investment, and private-sector development.
