Kep Plans to Build Two Ports Under ADB Project

The Kep Provincial Administration plans to build two standard ports for fisheries and tourism under the Asian Development Bank’s Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project.

A meeting on the project was held on 27 April, chaired by Mr. Vao Sokha, Deputy Governor of Kep Province, and ADB representative Mr. Lindsey Saunders, Team Leader of the Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project, and relevant officials.

The meeting discussed the construction of a boat port at the Kdam market and the improvement of a private-owned port into a standard port for the fisheries and tourism sector.

The Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project plan to spend US$100 million, including US$50 million from ADB Loans, US$10 million from ASEAN Infrastructure Fund, US$30 million from AFD, and US$10 million from ADB Grand Funds for regional development in four provinces -Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot, and Kep.
