A Japanese company in Kampong Thom is exploring the possibility of extracting oil from Cambodian cashew shells

MIRARTH is currently operating a factory processing cashew nuts in Kampong Thom province and is looking into refining cashew oil.

The company has reported that it is increasing its cashew nut processing capacity to 1,500 tons per year, up from 300 tons at the beginning of 2021.

MIRARTH has also presented a two-year study on the production process of extracting oil from cashew nuts.

The company has requested cooperation and support from the Ministry to ensure compliance with standards and analysis of nutritional components of cashew products.

The Ministry has confirmed its commitment to supporting the company in overcoming challenges and expanding its business.

MIRARTH inaugurated a cashew processing plant in June with technical assistance from TOP Planning Japan and JICA to enhance the export of processed cashew nuts to more overseas markets. (Read more)
