ADB Provides Us$30 Million for Tourism Infrastructure Development Projects

Cambodia has signed agreements with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) worth more than US$30 million for tourism infrastructure development projects in two provinces, according to a press release from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

On 24 October, 2018, Cambodia and the ADB signed four financing agreements worth more than US$250 million of which US$30.89 million is for tourism infrastructure development projects in Kep and Sihanoukville Province.

According the press release, the ‘Second GMS Tourism Infrastructure for inclusive Growth Project’ is focused on upgrading the road infrastructure in the provinces and building two small-size tourism ports. In addition, this US$30.89 million will be used to improve urban sanitation and capacity building for sustainable tourism growth.

The press release also noted that to date the ADB has given financial support to Cambodia totaling US$3.19 billion of which US$ 2.70 billion is grant aid and US$ 490 million is concessional loans.
