As of 2024, Phnom Penh has a total of 453 apartment buildings and 1,877 high-rise buildings with five or more floors.

This information was presented by HE Keut Chhe, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, on 1 February 2023.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s largest capital city, is experiencing rapid urbanization and industrial growth. HE Keut Chhe highlighted that by the end of 2024, the number of apartment buildings will reach 453, while the total number of buildings with five or more floors will increase to 1,877. This development is a significant step toward enhancing the city’s infrastructure.

In addition to the rise in residential and commercial properties, Phnom Penh has also seen a notable expansion in its industrial sector, increasing the number of factories to 811, with 18 new factories expected by 2024.

This growth reflects the city’s ongoing economic development and the government’s commitment to improving the urban landscape. Authorities are optimistic about the city’s future, with plans to continue developing infrastructure to accommodate population growth and attract more investment.
