Be the first country in the region to be included in the International Transport Forum (ITF)

Cambodia is the first country in Southeast Asia to be included as the 64th member of the International Transport Forum in Leipzig, Germany.

On May 19, 2022, the Transport Ministers of the 63 countries of the International Transport Forum (ITF) unanimously voted to include Cambodia as the 64th member of the ITF at its annual summit in Leipzig. Germany.

On that occasion, HE Young Tae Kim, Secretary-General of the International Transport Forum welcomed Cambodia as Cambodia is the only country in Southeast Asia that has joined the forum and hopes that other countries in Southeast Asia will join as ITF members as well.

With the inclusion of Cambodia as the 64th member of the ITF, HE Leng Thun Yuthea, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, said that Cambodia has been included as the 64th member of the ITF, reflecting the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia. In developing the transport and logistics sector in Cambodia.

He added that joining the International Transport Forum provided an opportunity for Cambodia to gain and share good knowledge and experience with all member countries as a capital for the development of an efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly Cambodian transportation system.

Through this international transport forum, the senior official also stressed that the ITF is ready to assist Cambodia in building transportation and logistics policies to achieve its goals. It is stated in the master plan on the connection of multi-modal transportation systems and logistics.
