This update comes following a thorough site inspection conducted by HE Bun Sophat, Deputy Director of the Project and Representative of HE Pal Chandara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, on 2 April 2024.

The primary objective of the site inspection was to ensure strict adherence to technical standards, quality benchmarks, and durability parameters throughout the rehabilitation project, which has now achieved a commendable 62% progress.

During the inspection, the Undersecretary of State underscored the importance of prioritising key aspects such as proper watering and excavation site clearance, while emphasising the paramount importance of safety measures. Directives were issued to the construction company to enhance safety protocols, including the installation of clear signage to regulate traffic flow and the provision of adequate safety attire for on-site workers, thus ensuring smooth travel and transportation for the public.

Spanning approximately 52.57 kilometres, the NR 33 rehabilitation project links Kampot province to Lok (Cambodia-Vietnam border), traversing Teuk Chhou and Kampong Trach districts in Kampot province, as well as Kep city and Damnak Chang Eur district in Kep province.
