Cambodia imports USD1.063 billion worth of construction materials in 8 months 2024

Imports of construction materials in Cambodia have risen, while the construction sector is projected to recover slower.

A report from the General Department of Customs and Excise shows that Cambodia imported USD1,063 million worth of construction materials in the first eight months of 2024, up 21.58 percent from the same period last year.

Cambodia also imported cement worth more than USD12 million during the above period, down 15 percent compared to the same period last year.

The mid-year report from the Ministry of Economy and Finance showed that the construction sector is expected to recover at a slow pace of 1.1 percent, while the real estate sector is forecast to grow at 1.2 per cent in 2024.
