Cambodia Unveils Export Service Centre to Strengthen International Trade & Empower Local Businesses

In a pivotal move to enhance Cambodia’s global trade footprint, the Ministry of Commerce officially launched the Export Service Centre (ESC) on 5 November 2024. This new initiative, dedicated to advancing Cambodian exports, aims to position local products in global markets and equip traders with essential skills and resources to compete internationally.

The inauguration ceremony, led by Minister of Commerce Lok Chumteav Chamnimol, saw the attendance of diplomats, officials from multiple ministries, private sector representatives, and development partners, all gathered in Phnom Penh to witness the launch. With its collaborative establishment alongside the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), the ESC represents a significant commitment to supporting and training Cambodian exporters for success in complex international markets.

The ESC’s core services include training exporters on essential export procedures, creating networking opportunities with industry experts, and providing a platform for connecting with potential buyers in target markets. This comprehensive approach is designed to streamline export processes, instil confidence, and build competitiveness within Cambodia’s export sector.

Business representatives interested in exploring export opportunities can reach out to the ESC, located at the Ministry of Commerce, or contact the centre via its dedicated line at 1266. More information is also available at https://exportservicecenter.moc.gov.kh.

With this strategic initiative, Cambodia is strengthening its role in the international trade arena, underscoring its commitment to fostering economic growth and expanding its influence in the global market.
