Cambodia Attracts 15 New Investment Projects Worth US$247m in 15 Days in December

In a remarkable economic stride, Cambodia has welcomed a wave of 15 new investment projects, collectively injecting over US$247 million into the nation’s burgeoning industrial landscape within just 15 days in December 2023. The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has granted registration certificates to these visionary enterprises, poised to stimulate economic growth and generate a substantial workforce of approximately 16,000 employment opportunities.

According to a press release from the CDC on 20 December 2023, the diverse range of investment projects encompasses strategic sectors, solidifying Cambodia’s position as a key player in the global economic arena. These ventures not only contribute significantly to job creation but also underscore Cambodia’s attractiveness as an investment destination.

The 15 new investment projects include:

  1. Developing a 150-megawatt solar power plant with a power storage system in Pursat province in Krakor district, Pursat province.
  2. Establishing a garment factory in Ang Snoul district, Kandal province
  3. Establishing a garment factory in Tram Kak district, Takeo province
  4. Establishing a garment factory in Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu province
  5. Establishing a factory for packaging materials, cartons, and plastic bags in Takhmao City, Kandal Province
  6. Establishing a shoe and shoe accessories factory in Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu province.
  7. Establishing a livestock production factory in Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province
  8. Establishing a garment factory in Kandal Steung district, Kandal province
  9. Establishing a garment, footwear, and bag factory in Samaki Monichey district, Kampong Speu province.
  10. Building a factory to produce home decoration materials, photo frames, lamps, lanterns, and Christmas tree decorations in Tai Seng Bavet Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng province
  11. Building a lamp factory, home appliances, bathroom equipment, and curtain accessories in High Park Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng province
  12. Building a factory to produce lamps, electric lamps, and toys for garden decoration in Shandong Sunsel Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng province
  13. Establishing a garment and garment factory in Chiluchean Pouchai Special Economic Zone, Svay Rieng province
  14. Establishing a garment factory, swimwear, underwear, gloves, towels, masks, and accessories in Jiangsu Special Economic Zone, National Road 6, Kampong Cham province.
  15. Establishing a factory to produce home appliances, bathrooms, and garden equipment in the special economic zone of Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province.
