CDC Approves Eight Investment Projects Worth Almost US$100m

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has officially approved private firms to invest in building five factories, two hospitals and a solar power plant, worth a total of almost US$100 million in Takeo, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Svay Rieng, Kandal and Phnom Penh.

The first investment permit has been granted to Mayco Furniture Company Limited to invest US$3.8 million in building a furniture factory in Bati district in Takeo province.

The second is PPCHY Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to invest US$6.9 million to build a machinery spare parts factory in Kong Pisei district in Kampong Speu province.

The third investment permit has been granted to Khema Global Co., Ltd to build two international hospitals; a US$6.3 million 81-bed hospital in Chbar Ampov district and another US$3.6 million 54-bed hospital in Tuol Kork district.

Meanwhile, Prime Road Alternative (Cambodia) Co., Ltd received a permit to build a US$37.6 million 60MW solar power plant in Tuek Phos district in Kampong Chhnang province.

CDC also allowed SYSG Garment Company Limited to build a US$4.3 million to build a garment factory in Angk Snuol district of Kadal province.

Another investment permit has been granted to Velong (Cambodia) Industries Co., Ltd with the firm investing US$3.5 million to build a factory producing BBQ stove equipment, electronic equipment and light bulbs in the Svay Rieng Giga Resource Special Economic Zone.

The last permit was granted to Allied Max International (Cambodia) Co., Ltd, with the firm investing US$32 million to build a fabric and garment factory in Shandong Sunshell Svay Rieng Special Economic Zone.

According to the CDC, these eight investment projects will create over 2,700 jobs for Cambodians.

The CDC also has recently approved private firms to invest in building two factories worth over US$500 million in Kampot and Kampong Kampong Chhnang provinces. (Read more)
