CRBC Advances Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Poipet Expressway Project, Anticipates Completion of Feasibility Study in 2024

China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is conducting a preliminary feasibility study for the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Poipet Expressway. The latest update from the first meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Commission held on 13 December, highlighted CRBC’s commitment to completing the feasibility study for the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap section by February and the Siem Reap-Poipet section by May 2024.

The meeting, chaired by HE Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, served as a platform to drive forward the implementation of this transformative expressway infrastructure project. The project, connecting Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Poipet, entered a crucial phase after the signing of the Framework Agreement on 7 June 2023. (Read more)

The Phnom Penh-Siem Reap-Poipet Expressway marks a significant milestone as the third expressway project in Cambodia, following the successful launch of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway and the commencement of construction on the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway on 7 June 2023.  (Read more)

Spanning over 400km, the expressway will traverse key provinces, including Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, and Banteay Meanchey. As CRBC diligently progresses through the preliminary phases, this ambitious project holds the promise of transforming Cambodia’s transportation landscape, fostering economic growth, and strengthening connectivity across the nation.
