Construction of NR2 and NR22 20% Complete

The construction and restoration of National Road 2 and 22 from Takmao to Ang Ta Saom has been 20% completed and is scheduled to finish in the first quarter of 2022, according to Ministry of Public Works and Transport spokesman Heang Sotheayuth.

Mr Sotheayuth told the Ministry of Information recently that since the ground-breaking ceremony in February 2020, the construction process has proceeded smoothly despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent flood.

The renovation covers a total length of 72km and is being undertaken with a budget US$56 million funded by the Republic of Korea together with the government fiscal budget.

The project includes road expansion as well as upgrading both roads to asphalt concrete and will take approximately 30 months to complete. (Read more)
