Construction of Sihanoukville First Shopping Mall Begin

As Sihanoukville sees the rapid growth in larger-scale buildings, construction on the city’s first shopping mall has also begun.

On 6 December, 2018, Ms Lim Sokha Davin, sales manager for Furi Real Estate said that construction of Sihanoukville’s first shopping called Furi Times Square had already begun.

“Construction of the mall begun sometime in November,” she said, adding that the company has already installed the building structure for the ground floor. Construction is set to finish by June 2019, she added.

Upon construction starting, many businesses have been interested in leasing shops in the mall. According to Ms Davin, the company has currently leased out about 70% of its leasable area, most of which are leases for food and beverage businesses.

Furi Times Square is a four-storey mall resulting from an investment of nearly US$10 million by property developer Furi Real Estate and investors from Macau and Hong Kong. The mall covers a land area of about 6,000 square metres of which 40% will be public space. (Read more)
