Construction of stores along Sihanoukville beach permitted to attract tourists

Following a recent meeting between the governor and beach vendors, the Sihanoukville administration has permitted beach vendors to construct more than 40 stores along the beach to attract more tourists.

In a 15 August meeting, the provincial governor H.E Kuoch Chamroeun said via the administration’s Facebook page that the National Committee for Coastal Management and Development has issued a design layout for 44 stores for beach vendors on Ochheuteal Beach in Sangkat 04.

“The beach committee has designed a store layout for people [vendors] to build according to the new design that is aesthetically appealing to the tourists… and our technical officers are ready to help facilitate so construction can go smoothly,” H.E Kuoch Chamroeun said.

The design layout is divided into two types; single store and twin store for which the committee has measured the standard, determined the border and standard size in accordance to the technical standards.

In addition to the new design layout, H.E Kuoch Chamroeun also said that the administration will also set up a wastewater system so that Ochheuteal Beach becomes one of the most popular tourist spots in Sihanoukville.
