Serei Saophoan Wastewater Treatment Plant Nears Completion with High Filtration Capacity

Strategic environmental project reaches 90 percent progress and is set for operational launch by mid-2026

Construction on the Serei Saophoan wastewater treatment plant in Banteay Meanchey province is nearing the finish line, with work now 90 percent complete. Once finished, the facility will have the capacity to treat 3,500 cubic meters of wastewater per day. These details were confirmed following a site inspection to review progress and address operational challenges led by His Excellency Kouch Bunliat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, in February 2026.

This vital infrastructure project is a key component of the 2026 development plan. Current estimates suggest that the final phases of construction will be wrapped up by June 2026. During the visit, the Secretary of State urged technical teams and relevant departments to maintain a high standard of quality and ensure the project remains on schedule. This project aims to provide sustainable wastewater management for the local community, improving both public health and environmental protection in the region.
