European Firm Mulls Investing in Cable Car Public Transport in Cambodia

A major European company Doppelmayr Group plans to invest in building a cable car system to serve as public transport in Phnom Penh.

According to the meeting between HE Touch Chankosal, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Mr. Peter Vogelmann, Director of International Sales, Doppelmayr Group on 23 November, the main objective of the project is to promote sustainable growth.

“The trend of people using public transport in Phnom Penh is still limited, but the ministry continues to spread awareness and benefits of using public transport to them. In the future, hopefully, people will change their mindset to use this public transport service more.” said HE Touch Chankosal.

He continued that the ministry has been studying and always looking for investment partners to develop the public transport sector in the city.

Doppelmayr Group specializes in planning, developing, designing, manufacturing, constructing, and supporting innovative projects related to the public transport sector.
