Families affected by drainage project in Preah Sihanouk to get concessional land

Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hall has decided to grant concessional land for 180 families affected by the drainage project in the province, according to an announcement made by Provincial Hall on 16 April.

According to the document, 610 dwellings are located in the project site of which 430 are partially affected and 180 are completely affected.

“Based on the administrative principle of Preah Sihanouk province, 180 construction owners who are completely affected by the rehabilitation of the canal and waterways project will receive a concessional land of 1 plot for each family from the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hall to build a house,” the document reads.

Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hall spokesman Mr Kheang Phearom told Construction and Property Magazine that the provincial authority is currently studying the location and the size of the land that will be given to the affected families.

Although Mr Phearom could not provide a specific timeframe when the study will be finished, he expected that it will be ready shortly.

At the same time, the affected 180 families are required to go to the provincial office to check and verify their names from 16-24 April 2020.
